Appreciation Day for Intermountain firefighters

Even though they don’t expect to be thanked for their services, it was obvious that the entire fire crew at Intermountain Fire and Rescue Department

had a good time at the Firefighters Appreciation Day held in their honor.

On a recent sunny Sunday, more than 150 family and friends of the station showed up at the station on 25858 Highway 78 for training demonstrations, games and a barbecue dinner provided by Bishers’ Meats of Ramona.

“We put this event on to show the firefighters how much we appreciate what they do, and we realize that, if they weren’t here, no one else is going to do their job,” said Maurice Waters, president of the Intermountain Board of Directors.
