Health coach opens wellness center

Holistic Health Coach Kat McClanahan of Ramona has achieved her goal of opening a wellness recource center on Main Street.

Loving Life Wellness recently opened at 1140 Main St., Suite 115.

McClanahan said her practice focuses on helping children with issues that stem from autoimmune or neurological dysfunctions such as attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, tourette’s, obsessive compulsive disorder, behavioral issues, diabetes, food allergies, and anxiety. She also works with individuals dealing with chronic pain or illness.

Although she works with adults, McClanahan said she specializes in working with families with children and focuses on nutritional and wellness needs.

“I try to help people understand their unique child,” she said.

“It’s very common that children are being put on medicine at a young age,” McClanahan said, adding that she believes in nutritional supplements.

“We are so deficient in nutrients in our current food supply,” she noted. “Even small changes can have big results. I want to make sure the work we do will be permanent and long lasting.”

McClanahan speaks from personal experience as she has a son with ADHD and an auditory processing disorder, which she manages with nutrition and supplements.

McClanahan received her training as a health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and recently received her board certification from the American Society of Drugless Practitioners.

In addition to her coaching, she can connect her clients to referral partners in massage, yoga, and other specialties. Massage therapist Beebee Wilson of Ramona is a business partner, McClanahan said.
