14-U Ramona Red shines at Memorial Day Tournament

The Ramona 14-U Red team was the undefeated champion in the Memorial Day RBI Tournament.
After destroying their first two opponents in pool play, by a combined score of 32-1, the 14-U players moved into bracket play against the Santee Wolfpack in the first round. After the Wolfpack took a two-run lead in the top of the first inning, Ramona answered back with a five-run explosion in the bottom of the frame and never looked back, winning the game 8-2 to move on to the championship game.
Todd Roberts got the win on the mound, allowing 2 runs, while striking out 5 batters and scattering 3 hits over 3 innings. In the championship game, Ramona went up against Academy, who had won its previous game by a score of 22-1, and Ramona again prevailed with a 8-3 win.
Blake Workman took the win, allowing 2 runs and fanning 6 batters over 6 innings. For the four tourney games, Ramona was led offensively by Carl Bunday with 7 hits and 6 RBIs, 1 HR; Workman, 6 hits, 8 RBIs, 1 HR; and Dylan Spacke, 5 hits, 6 RBIs and 1 HR.
John Mackay, Chandler Mackenzie, and Tyler Vargas contributed with 4 hits apiece. Lowen Hobbs, Adam Lobe, Noah Price, Vinny Smith, and Noah White collected hits as well. On the mound, Roberts, Workman, and Mackenzie all shared in the win column.

Ramona moved into the bracket round as the No. 2 seed, and beat Alpine 7-1 in the first round but got upended by the PQ Warriors in the semi-final bracket.

Ramona lost to MIT in the first round by a score of 10-6.

Ramona Blue lost to SD Dawgs in the first round, 10-1.
10-U
Ramona Blue lost to Academy in the first round, 8-7.
9-U
Ramona Blue lost in the first round to SD Legacy, 3-1.
Ramona Red beat SD Legacy in the second round, and lost to Fallbrook in the Championship game.
8-U
Ramona Blue lost in the first round to Wolfpack, 11-1.
Ramona Red won their final two games and the championship.
