June 2 Rib Fest to benefit Ramona Senior Activity Center

Live music, a car show, wine tasting, and face painting for children are among additions to the Seventh Annual All-You-Can-Eat Rib Fest Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 2.

The community event will be at the Ramona Outdoor Community Center Pavilion, 421 Aqua Lane. Proceeds will benefit the Ramona Senior Activities and Nutrition Program.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $2 for children ages 12 and younger.

Dinners include barbecued pork baby back ribs, potato salad, corn cobbettes, and coffee, tea, or lemonade.

The children’s meal includes hot dog, chips, and a drink.

Beer and Ramona wine will be sold by the glass, and vintners will offer wine tasting.

A bake sale and opportunity drawings are among other event features, said Cindie Iveson, sponsorship coordinator. A Sycuan gift pack, Main Street Auto service package valued at $350, Peppermill Casino certificate worth $400, and gift baskets from Unicorn Books & Gifts and Marketing Worx are among prizes, added Iveson.

Pete Bakarich is event chair, Sam Powell is coordinating the live entertainment, Jennifer Jenkin of Pamo Valley Winery is organizing the wine tasting, and Ramona Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion will be volunteer servers and will help with the cooking, said Iveson.

Tickets will be available at the event. Advance tickets are at Jewelry World, Ramona Community Center, Kitchen Barn, Marketing Worx, Packards Coffee Shop, Pott Belly Shop, Ramona Home Journal, and Southwest Trailer Sales.
