Needles, Lights, Magnets and Herbs Oh My!

RamonasTrainer_Title-1.WEBAlternative medicine and methods of dealing with pain and sickness are at an all-time high. Just this last week I was approached by two different people explaining how beneficial infrared lighting was for inflammation and another on how magnet mats were helping her and allowing her to help others with neuro-muscular issues.

I am not speaking from experience with these, so go out and research for yourself, talk to friends, consult your physician, and keep an open mind when it comes to alternative medicine.

The following are some of the most popular alternative medicines:

Acupuncture

Long practiced in traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is an alternative therapy that involves using needles to stimulate specific points on the body. These points are said to connect with certain pathways (or “meridians”) that carry vital energy (or “chi”) throughout the body.

According to the theory of acupuncture, blockages in the flow of chi disrupt well-being and lead to illness.

By stimulating acupuncture points, practitioners aim to clear up blockages and restore the client’s health and vitality.

Magnetic Mats

This therapy has been used to treat pain and edema in soft tissue for over 60 years.

The technology stemmed from radio frequency (RF) diathermy, which utilized a continuous electromagnetic field to produce heat in soft tissue.

Magnetic field can create currents without heating and thus directly alter cellular signaling.

It has been firmly established that tissues including blood, muscle, ligaments, bone, and cartilage respond to biophysical input, including electrical and electromagnetic fields.

New studies show that with the proper field intensity and frequency, treatment appears to be disease-modifying.

Light Therapy

It utilizes a drug-free therapy of Red and infrared Led wavelengths to treat pain. By using these systems just minutes a day you can find relief of muscle and joint aches, back pain. and the pain and stiffness associated with arthritis.

What it does:

•Increases circulation

•Relieves muscle and joint aches and pain

•Aids arthritis pain and stiffness

•Relaxes muscles

•Relieves muscle spasms

Homeopathy

Homeopathic remedies are typically derived from plants, herbs, minerals, or animal products. After being crushed and dissolved in a liquid, the selected substance undergoes a long process of dilution.

The solution can be applied to the problem area topically or by other means of ingestion.

Believe it or not the more diluted the substance is, the more potent it is thought to be.

There are over 2,000 medicines to choose from. That is one reason why chronic problems require the care of a knowledgeable homeopath.

There are many types of alternative medicines out there and you should seek out those who are versed in those fields.

A combination of traditional and alternative medicine therapies should be explored to ensure you are covering all bases.
