A female infant who was flown to Rady's Children's Hospital on July 4, with what were believed to be fatal injuries, was pronounced dead around 4:35 p.m. on Friday, reported the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The child has been identified as 8-month-old Liliana Velasquez. She was at a home in the 2600 block of Southern Oak Road when deputies and firefighters were called to the residence shortly before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The girl was first reported to be 7 months old.
