Four earn Eagle Scout rank

On Thursday, Jan. 19, Pacific Crest District Boy Scout Troops welcomed four new Eagle Scouts. This is the first time that the district has had four Eagle Scout boards of review held on the same night.

Cody Anderson-Parks, with Troop 130, currently the troop’s Senior Patrol Leader, worked to develop and oversee the building of a sturdy footbridge across a streambed that had been washed out deep in the Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary on Wildcat Canyon Road.

Nathan Creswell, with Troop 679, worked on the planning and construction of a “Welcome to Ramona” sign for the Ramona Chamber of Commerce that shows upcoming events for the Ramona community. The sign has changeable panel inserts and is located on Highway 67 for all eastbound traffic to see.

Brenen Kakacek, with Troop 768, planned and led a crew of helpers cleaning and painting all of the dugouts at the Ramona Girls Softball fields. The painting was needed to cover up unwanted graffiti and to restore the dugouts to a uniform look.

Kenneth Lawler with Troop 679, worked to install a 30-foot flagpole at Ramona Oaks Park. The project included locating a used flagpole suitable for this purpose, removing it from its former location and transporting it to its new location next to the Ramona Oaks Park bandstand.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the Boy Scouting program.
