Volunteers provide free tax preparation at library
AARP Tax-Aide volunteers are available to assist taxpayers with low and moderate incomes and senior taxpayers.
This free service includes preparation of all tax forms and e-filing the returns. Taxpayers with complex tax returns will be advised to seek professional tax assistance.
The service by AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will be available on Saturdays from Feb. 4 to April 14 in Ramona Library, 1275 Main St. An appointment sign-up sheet is at the information desk at the library and information sheets on what to bring to tax preparation appointments are also at the desk.
Those having their tax returns prepared by the volunteers are to bring the following: Social Security card, photo identification, copy of last year’s income tax return if available, and all income statements for 2011 such as wages, interest, dividends, pension, Social Security and purchase date and costs of any stock sold.
