Boys and Girls Club

Hunter PietilaHunter has scored 24 points so far this year and is in the top four of his division in points. Hunter is a fourth-grader and an excellent student at Ramona Community School. He also attends the after school program at the Boys and Girls Club. Besides his love for the game of basketball, he is an avid baseball player who is very skilled at the sport. Hunter also has a passion for soccer. “He loves playing all three sports, which makes life a little hectic at times but well worth it,” say his parents, Lisa and Walt.

Emily Sojourner

Emily is leading her division with 47 points in four games. Coach John Elliott says, “Emily is our leader on the court. She is a very talented player, but also the consummate team player. She always looks to get her teammates involved in the game. She makes the girls around her better and it’s a pleasure to have her on our team.” Emily’s GPA is currently a 3.8 and she is in the National Junior Honor Society at school. She loves playing basketball at Olive Peirce Middle School and participating in cross country.
