Enough is enough, school district
Shame on you, Ramona school board and administrators.
I am writing this letter in response to your upcoming school board meeting to lay off 16 full-time positions, five of which are night custodians. How can you keep messing with the education, health and welfare of our children?
Enough is enough. The district office is tipping over with upper management, assistants and assistants to assistants. Are you going to clean your offices and restrooms? Why don’t you try to manage your job without any help.
Try looking at where we can save money without losing jobs. Sell or auction off property, shut off 1/2 lighting after campuses are closed, take away company vehicles, gas cards, etc.
Have you tried talking to the actual departments that are doing these jobs for suggestions on how to save? Not management. They are not the performers.
I used to work for the district and have seen the waste that goes through the Ramona school district.
I feel so blessed that my sons are not attending our schools any longer. The sad thing is one day my grandchildren probably will.
You people who make six figures have given up what? Make cuts in your department. Two of your jobs would equal the $250,000 you say you could save for this year. Why did we need another HR director, assistant superintendent and vice principal? Delegate the work like the rest of the classified have to do.
Watch out, teachers. You are next. Parents, get involved. Our children are our future. Come to the school board meeting this Thursday, Jan. 19, to sign in before 7 p.m. and speak up. It is now or never.

Reopen Orosco shooting,Cedar falls to public
Open Letter to the U.S. Forest Service:
It’s been over five years since I have been denied the right to visit Orosco Shooting Area to target shoot with my grandkids due to it being closed for one lame reason after another by some forestry bureaucrats with an apparent Hitler mentality.
The closeness of the so-called “public land” is one of the main reasons we bought property, built a home and moved to Ramona.
I am an American. I served two years honorably, drafted into the Korean War 1951053, been shot at, but they missed. Our U.S. Constitution and the passport you now demand to visit public land give me the right to target shoot at Orosco Shooting Area. (This applies as well to hiking to Cedar Creek Falls.)
If you feel you have the authority to merely close these recreational areas to American citizens as a solution to something
you
perceive as dangerous, then have the honesty to go public in this newspaper to state what right you have to close public land to recreation by American citizens.
Otherwise, open Orosco Shooting Area and Cedar Creek Falls immediately and keep them open to let us enjoy our birthright as American citizens.
