County to sponsor pet microchip clinic in Country Estates Dog Park on Jan. 21

Share

San Diego County Department of Animal Services will hold a pet microchip clinic in Ramona on Saturday, Jan. 21.

The clinic will be in Ramona Dog Park at 23508 Basset Way in San Diego Country Estates from 10 a.m. to noon.

“Microchipping pets is critical to confirming identity and ownership,” said Dawn Danielson, Director of County Animal Services. “The chance of a lost pet being reunited with its owner is increased if the pet is microchipped.”

Animal Services will microchip pets at the clinic for a one-time fee of $20, which includes the chip’s registration. Coupons good for $50 toward spaying and $25 toward neutering dogs and cats at a veterinary office will be available, and free gifts will be given away.

There will be no licensing or rabies vaccinations at the clinic.

For the protection of owners and their pets, dogs must be on a leash and cats in a carrier while at the clinic. For more information, contact the County Department of Animal Services at 619-767-2675 or www.sddac.com.
