SR67 accident sends three to hospital

Share

Three people were taken to Pomerado Hospital in Poway with minor injuries after a two-vehicle collision on state Route 67 just north of Archie Moore Road about 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, according to California Highway Patrol.

Because SR67 traffic going into Ramona was backed up, the driver of a northbound pickup truck decided to make a three-point turn to return to Archie Moore Road, and the pickup collided with a southbound Ford Explorer, said CHP Officer James Clarke.

The woman driving the Explorer and the female passenger in the pickup complained of pain, and the male driver of the pickup had an abrasion on his temple, said Clarke.

The man and woman in the pickup are Ramona residents, and the driver of the Explorer is believed to be an Alpine resident.

Southbound SR67 traffic was stop and go until about 6:50 p.m., when the emergency crews cleared the vehicles from the road.
