Intermountain fundraiser nets $10,000

Novemberfest, the annual fundraiser for Intermountain Fire and Rescue Department, carried a Bavarian theme throughout the evening.

Approximately 200 supporters of the department attended, many dressed in traditional Bavarian garb. The event, hosted by the department’s auxiliary, the Hot Spots, was held at the Ramona Outdoor Community Center Pavilion. An oompah band played throughout the night, and John Little Catering provided guests with plenty of red cabbage, sauerkraut, and brats.

Each year, the Hot Spots—which raises funds for the day-to-day operations of the volunteer department—delights supporters with new themes and twists for the event. This year was their ninth benefit for the department.

In addition to dinner, activities included a live auction, a silent auction, games, entertainment — and a chance to meet and mingle with the department staff and neighbors.

According to Hot Spots treasurer Sharon Greene, more than $10,000 has been raised from the event so far, with donations still being received. She said that even though the state passed a $150 fire prevention fee, none of that money will be going to Intermountain, so the funds raised by the fundraisers are appreciated.
