Time running out to get passports for holiday travel

With the upcoming holidays, area residents may be planning an overseas getaway or a visit with family in another country.

That means a passport will be needed. And time is running out to get one in time.

The standard processing time for a passport is four to six weeks, but the service can be expedited to two to three weeks for an extra fee and overnight delivery.

The county offers passport services at the County Administration Center downtown at 1600 Pacific Highway in Room 402 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. excluding county holidays. No appointment is necessary, and free, three-hour parking is available. Photo services are also available.
