The Ramona band Relevance will be headlining a charity music event at Ramona Mainstage from 3 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12.

Hosted by Just Cause Boards, the event will benefit local chapters of StandUp For Kids, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to homeless and at-risk youth throughout San Diego County.

The family-friendly event also will include local bands Soul of the River, Without Papers, Spero, and 321 Stereo.

Those attending will have an opportunity to win a Just Cause Boards custom longboard skateboard and approximately $1,000 in prizes through drawings.

“This show is an all ages event and to help promote family time we are offering free admission for 12 years old and younger,” said an enthusiastic Mike Link, who plays drums and piano and does backup vocals for Relevance.

Tickets are $10 and are available at www.ramonamainstage.com or the Ramona Sentinel, 425-A 10th St. Those purchasing tickets via the website will receive one free opportunity drawing coupon at the door. Those purchasing tickets at the Sentinel will receive two free drawing coupons at the door, said Link, a Ramona resident.

In addition to Link, Relevance members are Ramona resident Chris Hartjen, bass player; former Ramona resident Josh Gates, guitarist and lead vocalist who lives in Lakeside; and lead guitarist Chris Edwards, who lives in Santee. Relevance musicians rehearse their mainstream rock songs in Effem Records studio on Brazos Street in Ramona.
