The Ramona High School golf team has been tuning up for post season tournaments for the last two weeks and ended the regular season with a 14-6 record and a 5-5 mark in the Palomar League.

Post season golf starts this week with the North County Conference tournament.

Last week the RHS golf team lost a league match to Mount Carmel High School but then beat Carlsbad High School at San Vicente Golf Course and at Carlsbad to end the regular season.

“We have been playing a lot of people in matches the last two weeks,” said Coach Jerry Patenaude. “We feel that our top six golfers are ready for the North County Conference Tournament and CIF. Some of our golfers needed time to work on their game at the range and in practice and that gave others a chance to play in matches. We have had a good season and we should get a top seed in the CIF. We feel that we are ready.”

Ramona lost to Mt. Carmel at San Vicente Resort, 202-214. Christian Rajcic shot a torrid 33 to take medalist honors. Brandon Zane shot 39 on the par 36 front nine. Tanner Angel carded a 45. Andrew Kaminsky and Kazar Matotian both carded a 49. Jason Morton shot a 51.

Ramona beat Carlsbad at San Vicente, 207-212. Rajcic again shot under par to earn medalist honors with a 35. Joe Fortunato benefited from a day off and shot an even par 36. Jason Morton improved his game and carded a 45. Angel shot 48 and Matotian turned in a 48. Robert Hill shot 54.

Ramona traveled to Aviara Golf Club and beat Carlsbad 202-209. Ryan Graf carded Ramona’s low score by firing a 38. Rajcic shot 39 and Zane carded a 40. Fortunato shot 41 and Angel recorded a 51.
