Two women transported to hospital after three-car collision

Share

Two Ramona women were transported to Pomerado Hospital by Ramona Fire Department/Cal Fire paramedics Wednesday morning after a three-car collision at state Route 67 and Highland Valley Road, said Fire Capt. Jose Ramirez.

Both women complained of neck and back pain, Ramirez said.

According to CHP officer Joe Nielsen, the female driver of a Subaru, heading west on state Route 67 slowed down for a traffic light turning red at the intersection and stopped. The driver of a Saturn stopped behind the Subaru but a third vehicle—a county-owned Ford Taurus—did not stop and collided with the Saturn which caused it to hit the Subaru. Nielsen said it is possible the brakes went out on the Taurus.

The drivers of the Saturn and the Taurus were taken to the hospital. No other information was available about the drivers.
