Ramona’s CrossFit Brand X joined over 8,000 athletes from 1,200 CrossFit affiliates around the world in a workout/fundraiser that in total raised over $2.2 million for three charities.
CrossFit Brand X in Ramona contributed $5,053.
Called Fight Gone Bad, the workout/fundraiser was held on Sept. 17 and marked the sixth year for the event. All the members of CrossFit Brand X, ages 2 and older, participated in the workout.
The three organizations benefiting from the fundraiser are: The Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Infant Swim Resource and Camp Patriot.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides full scholarship grants and educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel who die in operational or training missions, and immediate financial assistance to those who were severely wounded.
Infant Swim Resource’s mission is “Not One More Child Drowns.” CrossFit Kids has sponsored survival swimming lessons and wants to make such lessons accessible to children in cities around the world.
Camp Patriot is a nonprofit that takes disabled U.S. veterans on outdoor adventures.
Ramona’s CrossFit Brand X is at 423 Maple St. More information on the “Fight Gone Bad” event is at www.fgb6.org.
