Santa Ysabel Casino Hosts Annual Charity Chili Cook Off and Horseshoe Tournament

Santa Ysabel Casino will host its Annual Charity Chili Cook Off and Horseshoe Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Competition will kick off with beer garden, chili and shoes. Registration for the tourney and the cook-off will start at 7 a.m., with the horseshoe tournament starting at 10 a.m. and the cook-off at 11 a.m..

Forty-Eight teams will compete in the Horseshoe Tournament for a chance to win the first place prize of $1,200 cash. A total of $2,500 cash is up for grabs, says Chris Thomas, marketing manager for the casino.

Entry fee is $40. Pre-registration is strongly recommended.

First place in the chili cook-off is a trophy and $1,000 cash. Entry Fee is $35 with a club card and $40 without a club card.

About a 20-minute drive from Ramona, Santa Ysabel Casino is at 25575 Highway 79 in a hilltop setting overlooking Lake Henshaw and Palomar Mountain. The Orchard Restaurant overlooks Lake Henshaw and the surrounding hills.

First time visitors are invited to sign up at the Eagles Nest to get a free Players Card to receive $10 free play after 1 point is earned.
