Ramona Community Library at 1275 Main St., with parking in the rear, opens at 9:30 a.m. Mondays through Saturdays and closes Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 5 p.m.

General

Friends of the Ramona Library Board Information: Ramona Friends will host a luncheon at noon for all the County Friends of Library groups at the September board meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 21. The luncheon will be in the Auerbach Community Room in the library. The cost for the luncheon is $10 per person and the public is welcome.

Everyone is always welcome at the board meetings. Become a member and join in helping make the community library the best.

Friends Bookstore: the bookstore is in the library lobby near the front doors at Main Street. Bookstore hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The monthly special book sale will be Saturday, Sept. 17. The Friendly Waves Newsletter can be picked up in the bookstore or e-mailed to members. Updating your e-mail address with the Friends will help the group go green.

Youth

Baby Lapsit Storytime: For parents and their infants, storytime emphasizes adult-child interaction through songs, rhymes and movements. Monday, Sept. 12, at 11:30 a.m.

Pajama Storytime: Every Tuesday at 7 p.m. for the entire family.

Preschool Storytime: A fun story for preschoolers on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. followed by making crafts at 11:30 a.m.

Toddler Storytime: Stories are read from a selection of favorite children’s books every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Grandparents and Books: Grandma Donna, one of the grandparent volunteers, will read every Thursday at 11 a.m.

Teens

Ramona Library Chess Team meets Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m.

Girl Scouts help with library projects on Thursdays at 2:30 p.m.

Homework Club: For all ages every Monday through Thursday at 4 p.m.

Teen Music Shop: New program for teens ages 15 and older. Musicians, vocalists, writers, bring in your gear or use ours to collaborate and see what we can do. Starts Friday, Sept. 16, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Teen Video Game Arcade: (Grades 6-12) Try out some of the popular new games on popular gaming consoles on Saturday, Sept. 10, 1 p.m.

Families

Yoga: Bring your mat to participate in Hatha Yoga instruction every Friday at 11 a.m.

Family Crafts: Create arts and crafts every Friday at 3 p.m.

Mariachi Diamante de San Diego: Popular Mariachi instrumentals and music on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m.

Adults

Adult Book Club: Book to be announced. Club meets Monday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m.

Learn Citizenship Classes: Learn the newest test formats and more. Call 760-643-5144 or come to a class to register. Mondays at 6 p.m.

Tai Chi: Instructor-led Tai Chi classes for adults in the Auerbach Family Community Room on Thursdays at 9 a.m.

Diabetes Workshops: Thursday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m.
