Ramona Municipal Water District directors and employees honored retiring General Manager Ralph McIntosh at a luncheon on his last day, Oct. 6, which was also his 58th birthday.

It was an emotional day for McIntosh, who had worked for the Ramona water district for 39 years, spending the last three years as general manager.

“Ralph has been an outstanding manager to work with,” said Board President Bryan Wadlington at the luncheon.

Wadlington went on to say that McIntosh always kept the board informed and gave the board a number of options to make an informed decision.

“Ralph’s character and abilities can’t help but be missed,” said Wadlington as he gave McIntosh an award in appreciation of his work.

McIntosh said it has always been his objective to serve the community. He praised the employees of RMWD

and said the directors will have some tough decisions to make but the agency must do what is right.

Acknowledging he will miss working for RMWD, McIntosh said, “I will always care and I’ll always be watching.”
