Gas prices edge up

Share

Nearly four weeks of steadily-declining gasoline prices have reversed in San Diego County, as the average price for a gallon of gas began to edge up this weekend.

A stretch of 26 decreases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County in 27 days ended Sunday with an increase of three-tenths of a cent to $3.801.

The average price fell 17.7 cents over the past 27 days, including one-tenth of a cent on Saturday, according to the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The stretch of declines began Sept. 12. The average price fell seven consecutive days, was unchanged Sept. 19, then dropped each of the next 19 days.

The average price had risen 19 times in the past 20 days before the stretch of declines began.

The average price is 3.4 cents less than one week ago and 17 cents lower than one month ago but 74.3 cents higher than at this time last year.
