Pee Wee Dawg Pack brings home the win

Share

Ramona Pop Warner’s Pee Wee Dawg Pack had a fabulous game at La Costa Canyon. The Pack is now 4-2 with Saturday’s 39-7 win against the Mavericks.

Vincent Thompson, Jacob McElwee and Matthew Spacke continuously opened holes on offense, setting up touchdowns. Chris Steingraber, Shawn Coane, Gabriel Stallman and Colton Snyder, who also put it through the uprights after Steingraber’s touchdown, all put the points on the board for the Dawgs.

Coane had a stellar first game as quarterback with several passes for significant yardage, including one 50+ yard pass to Snyder that set the stage for Coane to take it to the end zone. Steingraber is also credited with an extra point conversion.

Defense players had their best game of the season, holding the Mavericks to one touchdown in the first quarter. Eder Landgrave, who also had a fumble recovery, tipped a pass that set up an interception by Michael Mazzola. Nathan Kiddoo is also credited with an interception.

Zion Barnum and Matthew Duvalian had several tackles each that held the La Costa team to minimal gains on the field.

The Pack continues to impress and improve coaches each week and will play at home this week at 4 p.m. against Carlsbad.
