Creating holiday centerpieces will be the topic of the Oct. 12 meeting of the Ramona Garden Club.

Frankie Berkley Newberg, the new owner of Sun Valley Florist in town, will demonstrate a lighted pumpkin design and accessorizing designs, keeping current trends in mind. She believes that flowers are “good for the soul,” and said she strives to make arrangements that are works of art, no matter what the container. She has been working in floral shops for more than 40 years.

Club members and guests are welcome to attend. Ramona Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Ramona Woman’s Club, 524 Main St. Meetings begin at noon with a potluck lunch.

“Also, be sure and put the Fall Plant Sale on your calendar,” said Regina Elling, in charge of publicity for the club.

The sale is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of Albertsons, 1459 Main St.
