Big 5 sets Nov. 25 for grand opening
Big 5 Sporting Goods was scheduled to open its store in Ramona on Nov. 23. The store’s “Early Bird” Grand Opening sale is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15.
The 10,000-square-foot, full-line sporting goods store is at 1312 Main St. in the Sun Valley shopping center and provides a number of new jobs in the community.
“The emphasis in all Big 5 stores is on providing a wide selection of top quality, nationally recognized brand name sporting goods, while also focusing on providing friendly, knowledgeable service to our customers,” said Steve Miller, Big 5 president and chief executive officer. “We are very excited about becoming a part of Ramona’s growing and energetic market, and we believe that our 56 years of experience in the sporting goods business will enable us to successfully fulfill the needs of sports enthusiasts in the community.”
Big 5 Sporting Goods, founded in 1955, operates 404 full-line sporting goods stores in 12 western states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The Ramona store opening marks the 206th Big 5 in California.
