Caltrans shifts to one-way traffic control for SR-78 work

State Route 78 (SR-78) between Indian Oaks Road and Weekend Villa Road in Ramona will be open to one way traffic control for the remainder of the week through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is in the final stage of completing a safety project to secure loose rocks along the slope of the highway.

Because of the nature of this work, Caltrans crews will only exercise the one-way traffic control when it is safe to do so, said Hayden Manning with Caltrans. Motorists may be delayed up to 15 minutes before vehicles are allowed to pass.

Westbound motorists may detour the one -way traffic control and take southbound state Route 67 (SR-67) to Poway Road or Scripps Poway Parkway and then to Interstate 15 (I-15).

Eastbound motorists can take I-15 to eastbound Scripps Poway Parkway or Poway Road and then onto northbound SR-67 to SR-78.
