Ramona High School was well represented on the All Palomar League golf team. The Bulldogs placed one golfer on the first team and two on the second team.
“We got three out of the 12 spots on the All Palomar League team. Torrey Pines is a contender for the state championship and placed six. For us to get three of the remaining six spots is truly amazing. It shows that we have one of the best programs in the county if not the state,” said Coach Jerry Patenaude.
Junior Joseph Fortunato earned a spot on the first team. “Joe was one of the premier golfers in the Palomar League. Four of the six golfers on the first team were seniors and two of them are getting scholarships to Cal and UCLA or USC. That is pretty good company,” said Patenaude.
Junior Christian Rajcic and freshman Ryan Graf were named to the second team.
“Ryan Graf is only a freshman and to make an all league team in a league of this caliber is very impressive,” said Patenaude. “Christian has been working on changing his swing all season and it is coming around very well now. For him to put up the numbers that he did while changing his swing is unheard of. All three of the all leaguers are very intense competitors and all three are coming back next season.”
The entire second team is underclassmen, which means that eight of the 12 all leaguers are coming back. The Palomar League will be tough again next season.
