Firefighters were checking for hot spots Thursday morning and investigating the cause of three brush fires off San Vicente Road near Bunnie King Lane that threatened several homes early Wednesday evening.
CalFire Battalion Chief Saul Villagomez with the Ramona Fire Department said there were four different fire starts and two burned into one. The two spot fires and larger brush fire started about 5:30 p.m. and were controlled about 8 p.m., burning approximately 15 acres, reported CalFire Battalion Chief Mike Mohler.
San Vicente Road was closed from Warnock Drive to Wildcat Canyon Road while firefighters fought
the blaze with assistance from a helicopter that dropped water and an air tanker that dropped fire retardant.
Complete containment is expected Thursday afternoon
