Two seats open on Ramona Design Review Board

Share

Two community-at-large seats on the Ramona Design Review Board will be open this fall.

Anyone interested in being considered for the seats is asked to attend the board’s Aug. 25 meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Ramona Community Center, 434 Aqua Lane.

The nine-member board meets the last Thursday of each month. The meeting in July was canceled due to a lack of agenda items.

Candidates must live, maintain a business, own property or be employed in the Ramona planning area to be considered for appointment to the board. Terms are for three years.

The board is advisory to the San Diego County Department of Planning and Land Use and is a required step in the development approval process for the following types of projects in the Ramona Community Planning Area: all commercial development, industrial development, multi-family residential development on land zoned for more than 7.3 dwelling units per acre, and some major use permits.

Members of the design review board review project site planning, architecture, landscape design and details such as signage and lighting.

All nominations to the board will be reviewed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. In selecting candidates, emphasis is given to those with backgrounds in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, fine arts and construction. Board members encourage those who are interested to come and support the Ramona community.
