Christmas in July Toy Drive benefits children in need

Share

Amy Hopperton, a Cadet Girl Scout in Ramona Troop 8423, is working toward earning her Silver Award in Girl Scouts and has created a summer toy drive.

Called “Christmas in July,” the purpose of the drive is to collect toys for the Ramona Food and Clothes Closet Christmas gift-giving program for children in need in Ramona.

All toys will go to the Ramona Food and Clothes Closet for its Christmas program, she said. Only new toys are needed. While toys for all age groups are welcome, she requests toys primarily for boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 16.

Collection boxes are at Ramona Family Naturals at 642 Main St., Ramona Library at 1275 Main St., Fitness Xpress at 1520 Main St., Suite B, and Master Hair & Nails at 1449 Main St.

“I want to thank all the residents of Ramona who have helped me with this project,” said Hopperton.
