Discount tickets for the first Fall Festival at Ramona United Methodist Church went on sale Monday outside Albertsons and Stater Bros. supermarkets. They will be available outside both stores from 4 to 7 p.m. through Friday, Sept. 2, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The tickets also are available inside Albertsons, at the Ramona Chamber of Commerce office and at Dynamic Discounts until Sept. 6 during normal business hours.

The discount carnival ride tickets are $12 for 20, a savings of nearly 30 percent, compared to the regular price of $20 for 24 tickets.

The Fall Festival will be Sept. 9, 10 and 11. Hours will be from 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, from noon to 10 p.m. on Sept. 10 and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sept. 11.

Festival admission is free. More than a dozen carnival rides, plus games, food and craft vendors, community displays, musical acts and a chili cook-off are planned in the church’s yard off state Route 67 and Dye Road.

Entertainers will include pianist and vocalist Kevin Cavanaugh, who has appeared nationally on VH-1 and plays in Escondido at The Tango Restaurant.

Cavanaugh will debut songs from his new CD, “Fly Me to the Moon,” at the festival.

Carnival rides will include a Ferris wheel and thrill rides.

“For little kids, there’ll be the Dragon Wagon, Tubs of Fun, Bumble Bees, Slide, Bounce House,” said a Carnival Entertainment representative. “Brace youngsters will enjoy the Monster House and the Rockwall and Power Bungee.”

Proceeds will support Ramona United Methodist Church’s local and global missions, including poverty relief, food and health program, and the Little People’s Learning Center.
