Evacuation advisory goes to Pala area residents

Residents in the area of Rancho Heights and Magee roads in northeast San Diego County have received reverse 911 calls alerting them to be prepared to evacuate if the need arises.

A brush fire started at 10:30 a.m. Monday on Pala Temecula Road after a vehicle hit a power pole, reports Melissa Aquino with the sheriff’s department. According to Cal Fire Capt. Mike Mohler just before 3 p.m. Monday, the fire has grown to 300 acres.

The evacuation advisory went to 37 telephone numbers at 2:12 p.m., Aquino reported.
