Dean earns academic honor

Rachel Dean, daughter of Karen Wallace and Jeff Dean of Ramona, is on the dean’s list at Smith College for her academic achievement in the 2010-11 school year. Students with grade-point averages of 3.3 and above are on the dean’s list.

Dean graduated from Ramona High School in 2009. She is majoring in American studies and history with a minor in Spanish at Smith. This is her second year on the dean’s list.

She swims on Smith’s varsity swim team, and she has an internship at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.

Smith College is ranked among the nation’s best liberal arts colleges. Enrolling 2,800 students from every state and 55 other countries, it is the largest undergraduate women’s college in the United States.
