VFW to sponsor its first poker run

The Men’s Auxiliary of the Ramona Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3783 will host its first poker run on Saturday, Aug. 13, to raise money for The Warrior Foundation.

The Warrior Foundation assists and supports wounded and disabled military heroes.

Participants in the poker run are welcome to travel by motorcycle, car or hot rod. The event will start and end at the Ramona VFW, 2247 Kelly Ave.

Poker run registration will begin at 8 a.m. and continue until 9:30. The first 60 to sign up will receive a Warrior patch.

The ride will start at 9:45 a.m.

Minimum entry donation is $25 per person. Participants may donate more if desired. Each entry will receive one poker run card and one opportunity drawing ticket. Additional drawing tickets may be purchased for $1 each.

At the end of the ride, participants can purchase one card for $5 to better their hand. Prizes will be awarded for the best hand and for the drawing conducted at the end of the ride.

Breakfast will be available from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. for a $3 donation. After the ride a barbecue lunch will be provided free of charge for all participants and for a $5 donation for non-participants. Live music will be provided by Rockchyld.
