Calling all dogs! Kiwanis Club of Ramona has set Saturday, June 12, for the sixth annual Ramona Kiwanis Bow Wow Pow Fun Dog Show and Competition.

The event will be at the Ramona Junior Fairgrounds on Aqua Lane from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Competition will start at 11 a.m.

This year’s show once again will include contests such as Best Dog Lookalike, Singer, Tailwagger, Trick Dog, etc., said Charles Teichert Jr., committee member in charge of publicity. All contestants will receive a participant ribbon, and contest winners will receive a prize along with a blue ribbon.

By 3 p.m., the judges will have decided the winner of the coveted Best in Show trophy.

Many other gifts and prizes will be available, and several dog adoption agencies will have some great dogs ready for guests to take home, said Teichert.

The well-know Kiwanis Chuckwagon will feature tri-tip, hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos and cold drinks. The annual bake sale filled with all types of goodies to take home will be set up throughout the show.

Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children. There is a $5 entry fee for each contest with a cap of $20 for up to five entries.

Several vendors will be at the show displaying their services and wares, which should be of interest to all dog owners, said Teichert.

All proceeds will support the Ramona Kiwanis Foundation for local scholarships, children and senior programs and activities as well as to assist with the annual Ramona July 4 fireworks show. All of the proceeds stay in Ramona, said Teichert.
