Adult softball sign-ups for summer season will be June 1 at the fields

Sign-ups for the Ramona Adult Softball (RAS) Summer 2010 season will be held at the RAS fields off Elm Street on June 1 at 7 p.m. At that time a mandatory manager’s meeting will be held for representatives from all teams.

League fees for the upcoming 10-game season will be $430 for softball and $450 for fastball for those who sign up on or before June 1.

Summer league fees will go to $450 and $470, respectively if teams sign up on a later date or fail to send a representative to the mandatory manager’s meeting.

Umpire fees are $15 per team per game for the summer season. Full payment of outstanding league fees is due for all leagues by June 18. Failure to meet this deadline may result in team forfeits being assessed including the imposition of a $30 per game forfeit fee.

League games will begin play the week of June 7 and run through September. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are Co-ed leagues, Tuesday is fastball, and men’s league is Thursday nights.

Efforts are also under way to start a Thursday night Women’s-only league. Twenty women need to sign up by June 7 to make this happen. The fee is $25 per player.

A work party for the league will be held at RAS on Sunday, June 6, at 9 a.m. Teams can receive a $25 discount off their summer league fees by sending at least two representatives to the work party.
