County OKs waiver for Horizon View

San Diego County Planning Commission has approved modifications to the Horizon View Estates tentative parcel map.

The commission’s decision authorizes a waiver to allow existing power poles and overhead power lines, clarifies the location of required road improvements, and reduces vertical curves and horizontal radius distances for certain on-site private roads.

The 287-acre site on the south side of Highway 78 at Horizon View Drive is owned by the Teyssier family and currently hosts an avocado grove and two large reservoirs, which will remain after the property is subdivided into 36 residential lots ranging from 5-1/2 acres to 10 acres. The commission approved the tentative map, along with the environmental Mitigated Negative Declaration, in March 2006.
