James Dukes Student Council ends the year with Olympics
James Dukes Elementary School PTA has spent the school year encouraging the students to give to others and enjoy the positive school spirit.
Student council representatives sold Gobble Grams, Candy Cane Grams and Shamrock Grams. They sent $272.25 to the Heifer International Project to help families become more self-sufficient and to improve their diet by providing training and animals.
In February, the students collected coins for Haiti and sent a check for $520.34 to the American Red Cross to help the earthquake victims.
The council ended the school year by putting on the Student Olympics at the school. Council members were in charge of the stations and of helping each class with activities.
