Ramona Idol auditions scheduled

Singers are encouraged to start rehearsing for the Ramona Idol Contest.

Auditions for younger contestants will start this month and be held in Boll Weevil at 2548 Main St. Tryouts for adults will be in Cheers Bar & Grill, 2475 Main St. Contest semifinals and finals are scheduled for the Ramona Country Fair this summer.

Gin Boughner, who is in charge of the youth division of the Ramona Idol Contest, will start auditions on June 26. Additional audition dates are July 3, 17 and 24.

Signups will be at 5:30 p.m. and auditions will start at 6 p.m.

The three age categories for the youth division are:

•From 5 to 10 years old,

•From 11 to 16, and

•From 17-20.

Semifinals will be at the country fair on July 29, with finals scheduled for July 31.
