Motorcyclist killed in Memorial Day crash
A 54-year-old San Diego man died in a motorcycle accident Monday morning in the 24600 block of East Old Julian Highway in Ramona, the county medical examiner’s office reported.
The man’s name was not released pending notification of his next of kin.
Evidence at the scene of indicates the motorcyclist, who was westbound, entered a curve and hit a large rock in the roadway, causing him to lose control, hit a rocky embankment on the right shoulder and ejecting him onto the opposite shoulder. Other motorcyclists came upon the accident about 10 a.m., and police and paramedics reponded to their 911 call. The victim died soon after Mercy Air arrived, and efforts to revive him failed, officials reported.
