Two churches partner to bring Treasure Box recession-friendly meal program to Ramona

The Treasure Box has partnered with Ramona churches, including Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and The Way Church, with more expected to be announced in the weeks ahead.

Treasure Box is an economical meal program that provides quality and nutrition for families and individuals for $30 per month. There are no pre-qualifiers or restrictions.

The program is available to the public and may be ordered by visiting www.thetreasurebox.org or calling Martha Johnston at 760-789-4105. Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and The Way Church partnered with the Treasure Box to serve families, senior citizens, college students and the military in Ramona.

“We saw the need for a program like this, with all the military families, and individuals, experiencing the effects of the economy,” said Kristy Myers, Treasure Box’s San Diego representative.

Developed by San Diego-based Good Source Solutions, Treasure Box has partnerships with more than 500 popular food brands and is able to provide a pre-assembled, frozen box packed with up to $100 worth of nutritious, high-quality foods for $30 a month.

Each monthly lunch and dinner menu offers 21 to 25 pounds of a variety of brand name foods that provide a family of four with a week of meals, or an individual with nearly a month of meals.

The Treasure Box will be in Ramona monthly. The deadline for placing July orders is July 18 and pickup will be on July 31 at both Ramona locations. More Ramona locations will be added in the coming months.

The Way Church is at 838 Hanson Lane. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church is at 537 E St.
