Ramona Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2009 Finalists for Ramona Citizen of the Year and Ramona Business/Organization of the Year.

As a result of their individual community involvement, volunteerism and leadership, Carol Fowler, Bob Hailey and Darrel Kinney have been named as the three finalists for Ramona Citizen of the Year. NuLite, Ramona Home Journal, Ramona Parks and Recreation Association, Ransom Brothers and Ramona Sears were named as the five finalists for Ramona Business/Organization of the Year.

“The finalists were selected based on their impact of services and countless contributions made for the sake of a better Ramona,” said Nominations Committee Chair Patrick Meskell.

Meskell stated that the community did a great job of nominating some outstanding businesses and individuals.

Nominations for the awards were accepted from mid October to late December and could be made by any member of the public.

Winners for the Ramona Citizen of the Year and Business/Organization of the Year Awards as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award and a Special Recognition Award will be announced at the Ramona Chamber of Commerce Installation Banquet Dinner, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23, at Barona Resort and Casino. San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth and Assemblyman Joel Anderson are expected to be in attendance.
