Reclaim Your Front Yard

Landscape designer Christiane Holmquist will be Ramona Garden Club’s featured speaker on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

A Ramona resident, Holmquist has been designing gardens in San Diego County for the past 10 years. Her passion for design and gardening began in Germany and France, where she grew up, and she earned a California certificate in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design in 2001.

Although her preference is for the naturalistic and romantic landscape, Holmquist designs many different styles of gardens. Her specialty is landscape designs for gardens that are dynamic and colorful yet adapted to the region’s climate with exceptional drought tolerant plants. All are welcome to hear Holmquist’s talk on “Reclaiming Your Front Yard Living Space.” The meeting will begin at noon at the Ramona Woman’s Club at 524 Main St.

The Ramona Garden Club meets the second Wednesday of each month—excluding July, August, and December—and features a garden related program, refreshments, opportunity drawings and door prizes.
