Man gets 6 years for molesting teen

Share

David Eric Letzring, 50, of Ramona, has been sentenced to six years in state prison for molesting a 15-year-old Ramona girl on Halloween when they were out of town.

Probation was denied and Letzring was fined $1,260 by El Cajon Superior Court Judge Charles Ervin, who gave him credit for serving 161 days in the Vista Detention Facility. Letzring pleaded guilty Feb. 5 to performing a lewd act with a minor.

The incident took place in the Borrego desert area. The girl told an administrator at Ramona High School about it, and Letzring was arrested Nov. 5, 2009, by sheriff’s deputies.

The girl did not have to testify in court because Letzring pleaded guilty without having a preliminary hearing. He agreed to accept the six-year sentence as part of the plea agreement with the district attorney’s office, according to court records.

Three other counts alleging molestation of the same girl on the same night were dismissed. He has a prior record of two residential burglary convictions.
