Dancers earn top awards

Ramona Julian Academy of Dance returned from its first competition of the year in the Escondido Performing Arts Center with top awards on March 6.

The Mini Acro dancers earned the Platinum Award and First Place Overall for their “My Oh My.”

Other awards are:

•“Dancing in Heaven,” Jazz/Acro, Silver Medal and 3rd Overall. Dancers Natalie Buttle and Jessica Middleton

•“Mr. Personality,” Jazz Duo, Silver Medal and 4th Overall. Dancers Alex Eckert and Taylor Narde

•“Swing,” Tapp Trio, Silver Medal and 2nd Overall. Dancers Joanne Barber, Adrianna Eckert and Nikki Lucchese

•“Car Wash,” Mini Hip Hop, Silver Medal and 4th Overall. Dancers Rebecca Brown, Destiny Cooley, Alisa Crowe, Zoe Galloway and Meryl Hubbard

•“They’re Everywhere,” Hip Hop, Silver and 5th Overall. Dancers Lexi Barrow, Brooke Hurtado, Abigail Jones, Livia Limon and Greg Tate

•”Lonely Goatherd,” Gold Medal and 1st Overall. Dancers from Character (18)

•”Too Cool For You,” Acro Duo, Gold Medal. Dancers Natalie Buttle and Shannon Huff

•”Purple People Eater” Jazz Solo, Bronze and 5th Overall. Dancer Destiny Cooley

•”Cruella Deville,” Acro Solo, Silver and 4th Overall. Dancer Olivia Hirsh
