RHS tennis wins one, loses one

The Bulldog tennis team lost to Mt. Carmel and beat San Marcos in Valley League action at Riviera Oaks.

Mt. Carmel beat Ramona 11-7. Ramona’s number one singles player, Cameron Ruland, went 6-4, 6-2 and 6-1. Daniel Streeter picked up a team point by going 0-6, 4-6 and 6-2. Tyler McDonald went 0-6, 3-6 and 3-6.

In doubles action, Tyler Davidson and John Shupe won two sets and picked up two team points by turning in scores of 3-6, 6-3 and 6-3. Liam Swan and Chris Page picked up a team point by going 1-6, 4-6 and 6-4. Garrett Hatch and Chris Bowersox went 2-6, 2-6 and 4-6.

The Dawgs picked up their second Valley League win by beating San Marcos 10-8. Ruland again paced the Bulldogs by winning three sets with scores of 6-3, 6-0 and 6-0. McDonald went 3-6, 2-6 and 6-1 as he picked up a valuable team point. Nick Brierton went 3-6 and Streeter went 2-6 and 4-6.

The doubles teams saved the day as they picked up 6 team points. Davidson and Shupe won three sets with scores of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1. Hatch and Bowersox won two sets by going 5-7, 7-5 and 6-4. Swan and Page picked up a set by turning scores of 3-6, 4-6 and 6-3.

The Dawgs are now 4-5 on the season and are 2-2 in the Valley League.
