Junior Midgets continue perfect season

It has been a banner year so far for the offenses as the Ramona Pop Warner Junior Midget team rolled up more than 30 points each game and the players swamped their Palomar Conference opponents.

The Guard Dawgs offense has been clicking on all cylinders and moved the ball on every drive, and numerous players have gotten involved in the highlights. Brandon Gansch and Keyanis Crichlow put multiple points on the board with long scampers into the end zone, and Justin Villagrana is nearly unstoppable when running the wedge and fullback counters, gaining huge chunks of yardage.

Quarterback Jordan Narramore completed several passes to Travis Kerchner and tight end Wyatt Kent to help the drives move down the field. Cesar Marinez booted extra points every game, and he also has done a great job at QB when needed.

The boys gave thanks to their O-line Kory Hine, Ben Hine, Jason Summers, Keyshaun Crichlow, Lee Hernandez, Connor Anderson, Skyler Monaghan, Chad Nelson and many others. The Guard Dawgs defense has been just as dominant, allowing minimal points all year as Colten Jansen and Jacob Lux have stepped up to make numerous tackles. The defense has been dominant throughout, led by Arturo Osorio, and defensive ends Nigel Larrabee-Castilo and Ben Barnat. Keyanis Crichlow and Ted Schank each had interceptions in this year. The tackles also have been showing pressure on the opposing offense led by Tony Maccini, Billy Clayton and Daniel Fieger.

“I felt really happy with the players,” said Jason McGhe, head coach. “This is a playoff team and our players have played physical all year.”

Next Saturday the Dawgs will continue with the drive for a perfect season with the last regular season division game at 3 p.m. game against Torrey Pines at Bulldawg Stadium.
