Attack Dawgs fumble perfect season
By Gary Johnson
Ramona Pop Warner Attack Dawgs went into Temecula Saturday with a 3-0 record, expecting a battle—and a battle is what they got.The Attack Dawgs were facing the best Jr. PeeWee football team Temecula Pop Warner had, and the first half was everything one would have expected from two undefeated teams.
These teams seemed to match up evenly, both taking the field and playing an old-school brand of smashmouth football. The Dawgs would pound the ball up the middle on offense and the Mighty Kodiaks would stop them, and, when the Mighty Kodiaks pounded the middle, the boys from Ramona held their ground.
So with both teams pushing to see which defense would break first, they went into halftime knotted at 0-0.
In the second half, it was all Temecula as the Mighty Kodiaks came out and marched right down the field on a hot and tired Attack Dawg defense, putting up the first points of the game.
Ramona couldn’t reach an offensive rhythm, and the Mighty Kodiaks proved to be to much for the Attack Dawgs, handing them their first loss of the season.
