Brush fire breaks out off Highway 94 and Millar Ranch Road

Firefighters are making good progress on a brush fire off Highway 94

and Millar Ranch Road that is being held at 10 acres and is being

fought from the air and ground by CalFire, assisted by the U.S. Forest

Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife and Heartland Fire, CalFire reports.

The

fire was reported at 11:30 a.m. and its cause is under investigation,

reports CalFire. One firefighter has been injured, but details are not

available.

Initiallly, seven engines, two fire crews, one bulldozer,

two airtankers, two helicopters, and one chief officer responded to

what officials are calling the Millar Fire.

As the fire spread

from three acres to seven acres, the incident commander requested a

strike team of engines from Heartland Fire, two additional airtankers

and two additional helicopters, CalFire reported at 11:40 a.m. The

incident commander later canceled the two additional airtankers and two

extra helicopters, but ordered two water tenders and additional two

fire crews, CalFire reports.
