Menifee falls prey to Attack Dawgs

By Gary Johnson

Ramona’s undefeated Junior PeeWee Pop Warner Football team retained perfection Saturday with its hard-fought 14-13 victory over the Predators of Menifee.

This was truly the tale of two halves.

The Attack Dawgs spotted the Predators a first half 13-0 lead, when Menifee capitalized on the Dawgs mistakes, and Ramona’s perfect season looked to be in jeopardy.

After some adjustments at halftime and a serious gut check, the Dawgs showed the heart of a champion and came roaring back.

Once again it was the Attack Dawgs hard-hitting defense led by back-up noseguard Nathan Ford and defensive end Dawson Castro that turned the game around, shutting down Menifee the whole second half.

It was a fumble recovery and return by Aaron Johnson that led to the first of two Shawn Coane touchdowns, but for the second straight week it was the foot of kicker Lucas Lotero that proved to be the difference in the game.
